Sevenoaks RFC beat Farnham 28-7 for four league wins from four, and a Jeche hat-trick gave Sevenoaks Town a 3-2 home win over Broadbridge Heath on Saturday.

Sevenoaks RFC’s 2nd XV went top of Counties 1 Kent after a 32-27 win away at Canterbury’s 2nd XV on 10 October. Director of Rugby Adam Bowman called it “a cracking away win”, and the club’s first away win against that side in several years. (Sevenoaks RFC, From the Touchline, 16 October 2026)

Update, 20 October: both clubs won at home on Saturday 17 October.

Sevenoaks Town are now 11th in the Isthmian South East on 15 points from 11 games: four wins, three draws, four defeats, 19 scored and 20 conceded. AFC Croydon Athletic, their visitors on Wednesday 21 October at 7.30pm, are 10th on the same 15 points with a goal difference of 0 to Sevenoaks’ minus one. The rugby 1st XV are away at Worthing on Saturday 24 October. The report below was written before Saturday’s games.

Rugby: last weekend’s results

The club’s results for 10 October: (Sevenoaks RFC, Our Weekend Results)

  • 1st XV 26-19 Bracknell (home)
  • 2nd XV 32-27 at Canterbury 2nd XV
  • Women’s 1st XV 29-17 Beckenham 2nd XV
  • Under-18s lost 34-11 at Tonbridge Juddians

The club named Louis Bouverie its 1st XV player of the match against Bracknell, and Elliot Wright for the 2nd XV. (Sevenoaks RFC, Men’s Player of the Match)

Three from three, but a scrappier win

The Bracknell result made it three league wins from three for the 1st XV, and another five points. Bowman’s programme notes for Saturday were frank about the numbers, though. He compared them with the 47-7 win at Wimbledon the week before: (Sevenoaks RFC, From the Touchline)

Wimbledon (a) Bracknell (h)
Error rate 32% 43%
Penalties conceded 6 11

The club’s target is eight penalties or fewer, and most of the 11 came at the breakdown. Bowman credited Bracknell for slowing the ball. “Our challenge is to bring intensity, accuracy and discipline consistently for 80 minutes,” he wrote.

He expects “a tough match against Farnham”.

Watch the rugby online

The club is streaming the Farnham game on YouTube, with coverage from 2.15pm. It says it will stream every 1st XV match, home and away, this season. (Sevenoaks RFC, Watch the Oaks live online, 16 October 2026)

The rest of October for the 1st XV, from the club’s fixture list:

  • Saturday 24 October: Worthing (a)
  • Saturday 31 October: London Scottish Lions (h)
