Sevenoaks market is on the High Street every Wednesday 8am to 2pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm, with Bligh's on Saturdays. Plus a nearby market for most days.
Sevenoaks market runs twice a week, every week of the year. On Wednesdays it trades on the upper High Street from 8am to 2pm. On Saturdays there are two markets side by side, both from 9am to 4pm: the High Street market outside the Chequers, and Bligh’s Market in Bligh’s Walk. Sevenoaks Town Council runs all three (Sevenoaks Town Council, Markets).
Most listings stop there. This page also covers the other regular markets within a short drive: Edenbridge’s Thursday charter market, Swanley’s twice-weekly market and four farmers’ markets around Tonbridge. Between them, there is a market near Sevenoaks on every day except Monday and Friday. Everything was checked against each organiser’s own page on 22 October 2026.
The quick answer
For fruit, vegetables, bread and flowers, go to the High Street market outside the Chequers on a Wednesday (8am to 2pm) or Saturday (9am to 4pm). For crafts, jewellery, cheese and patisserie, go to Bligh’s Market on a Saturday. Sevenoaks has no farmers’ market of its own. The nearest are Hildenborough (Tuesday mornings) and Shipbourne (Thursday mornings). The biggest is Tonbridge, on the second Sunday of each month.

The Wednesday market
The Wednesday market used to be held in Buckhurst Lane. It now trades outside the Chequers pub on the High Street, from 8am to 2pm every week (Sevenoaks Town Council). The town council lists:
- breads and fresh baked goods
- olives
- fruit and vegetables
- flowers
Sevenoaks District Council’s own description of the High Street markets adds meat and fish, plants and homewares (Sevenoaks District Council, Markets). Stalls change from week to week, so treat that as a guide to the range rather than a promise.
The 2pm finish catches people out. If you want the pick of the bread, go in the morning.
The two Saturday markets
On a Saturday the town has two markets a few minutes’ walk apart. Both run from 9am to 4pm.
The High Street market is the historic one, in the upper High Street outside the Chequers. It sells the same fresh food as the Wednesday market: bread, olives, fruit, vegetables and flowers. The town council says it is fully booked with longstanding stallholders, so the faces are much the same each week (Sevenoaks Town Council).
Bligh’s Market sets up in Bligh’s Walk, in the Bligh’s development off the High Street. It is the artisan market. The council lists:
- handmade jewellery, ceramics and candles
- accessories and prints
- gourmet cheeses and patisserie
The council’s May announcement for Love Your Local Market also mentions clothing and honey from local traders (Sevenoaks Town Council, Love Your Local Market 2026).
The same announcement notes some history. In 2025 the town marked 100 years since its citizens bought the rights to their market, and the council says records of a market in Sevenoaks go back more than 1,000 years.
Parking for the market
On a Saturday, the free option closest to the High Street is the car park at the district council offices off Gordon Road, TN13 1HG. The council lists it as free on Saturdays and Sundays from 7am to 7pm (Sevenoaks District Council, council offices car park). It fills up, so arrive early. It is not free on weekdays, so for the Wednesday market use a pay and display car park. Our parking guide has the town-centre tariffs, and free parking in Sevenoaks covers every free space we found.
Edenbridge Thursday Market
Edenbridge’s market is held every Thursday in the Market Yard car park, with free parking (Edenbridge Market). Its charter dates from the 13th century, granted by Henry III. The town council has run it directly since 2021, when the previous operator withdrew (Edenbridge Town Council).
The two official sources give different closing times. The market’s own website says 8am to 2pm. The town council’s page says 8am to 2.30pm, adding that some traders stay longer. Plan on 2pm and anything after that is a bonus.
The council says around 15 traders come each week. The market’s own stall list for 29 October, last updated on 24 September, names eight (Edenbridge Market, this week’s stalls). They include:
- JB Fruits, a family fruit and veg business that has traded at Edenbridge for 20 years
- The Baker from Tonbridge, with bread, pastries and pizza
- Ton Ton Gilles, selling French patisserie
- Cuppa, a coffee van
Swanley market
Sevenoaks District Council says a general market trades in Swanley town centre every Wednesday and Sunday. Bray Associates runs it for the council (Sevenoaks District Council). The council does not publish trading hours. Bray’s own Swanley page was showing only a web host’s holding page when we checked on 22 October, so we cannot give you times. Turn up in the morning to be safe.
Farmers’ markets near Sevenoaks
Sevenoaks does not have a farmers’ market. The Kent Farmers’ Market Association (KFMA) lists four within a short drive, each run by its own market manager:
- Hildenborough, every Tuesday, 8.30am to 11am, at the Village Hall on Riding Lane, just off the B245 between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge. There are two public car parks just past the hall (KFMA, Hildenborough). The next is on Tuesday 27 October.
- Shipbourne, every Thursday, 9am to 11am, at St Giles’ Church on the A227 between Tonbridge and Ightham. Park on Upper Green Road, opposite the church (KFMA, Shipbourne). The next is on Thursday 29 October.
- Penshurst, on the first Saturday of every month, 9am to noon, in the Penshurst Place car park. Parking there is free (KFMA, Penshurst). The next is on Saturday 7 November.
- Tonbridge, on the second Sunday of every month, 9.30am to 1.30pm, in the Sovereign Way car park. Its organisers say it is the largest in Kent, regularly with over 50 stalls, and it holds cooking demonstrations every month (KFMA, Tonbridge). The next is on Sunday 8 November.
The first Saturday pairs well with a day at Penshurst. Our Penshurst Place guide explains what stays open once the house closes for the winter after 1 November.
Selling at the market
The town council takes stall enquiries by email from its markets page, which also links a plan of the Bligh’s stall layout. Its fees schedule for April 2026 to March 2027 sets these charges, excluding VAT (Sevenoaks Town Council, market fees and charges 2026-27):
- Bligh’s Market: £50 a stall
- Christmas market: £50 a stall
- Wednesday and Saturday High Street markets: on application
The markets page itself still quotes last year’s Bligh’s rate of £48 a day, from April 2025. The fees schedule is the newer document. The Saturday High Street market is full, so new traders are more likely to find space on Wednesdays or at Bligh’s. Edenbridge says it has room for new traders, and you do not have to commit to every week (Edenbridge Market).
Christmas markets
The council’s fees schedule includes a Christmas market, but no 2026 dates for one in Bligh’s Walk had been published when we checked. Our Christmas markets near Sevenoaks page tracks every confirmed date, and the what’s on guide lists the weekly markets alongside everything else.
