Sevenoaks Leisure Centre soft play
The three-storey frame at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre on Buckhurst Lane is the newest of the lot. It opened in May 2025 in the space that used to be the cafe, and Everyone Active themed it on Knole Park, with a large slide, a rock wall, a ball pit and an enclosed tube (Everyone Active).
It is built for under-12s, which makes it the best bet in town for a six or seven year old who has outgrown the toddler frames. Sessions run seven days a week from 9:00 to 20:30, they last an hour, and it costs £7 per child per hour. Membership does not cover it, so gym and swim members pay the same as everyone else (KentOnline). Book through the Everyone Active app or website, or at reception on 01732 442365.
One thing worth knowing locally: the Buckhurst Lane building is the centre the district council plans to replace as part of the Land East of the High Street scheme, so the soft play will move when the new leisure centre is built. Oakie Doke’s Playhouse
Oakie Doke’s on the Vestry Industrial Estate, Vestry Road, TN14 5EL, is the one for the under-8s, and it is where most Sevenoaks parents of babies and toddlers end up. There is a forest-themed frame for over-3s, a smaller frame for under-3s, a role play corner and a separate area for babies, plus a cafe doing light meals and proper coffee (Oakie Doke’s).
Sessions last 90 minutes and run seven days a week, starting at 09:30, with a late 15:30 session on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Prices split into off-peak, meaning term-time weekdays, and peak, meaning weekends, bank holidays and school holidays (Oakie Doke’s):

The Barnyard, Swanley Park
Swanley Park is roughly 15 minutes up the A20, and The Barnyard is the cheapest proper soft play within reach of Sevenoaks by some distance. It is farm-themed, three floors, with a spiral slide, built for ages 1 to 10, and it takes both walk-ins and pre-booked sessions. Weekdays cost £3 per child and weekends, school holidays and bank holidays cost £6, with adults free (Swanley Park). Session times differ between weekdays and weekends, so check the park’s page or ring 01322 668415 before you set off.
The obvious play is to pair it with the rest of the park, which has a lake, a splash pool in season and a big outdoor playground, so a wet morning indoors turns into an afternoon outside if the weather picks up.
Buzz Zone, Orpington
Mytime Active runs its Buzz Zone soft play for ages 0 to 11 at Walnuts Leisure Centre on Lych Gate Road, Orpington, BR6 0TJ, and again at Darrick Wood Swimming Pool on Lovibonds Avenue. The frame has ball ponds, mouse holes, rollers, slides, rope bridges and air machines, with a separate under-3 area with sensory features, and the cafe looks straight onto it (Mytime Active).
The catch is that Mytime publishes neither session times nor prices on the website, so you are ringing the contact centre on 01689 870533 or booking through their online system. Worth doing if you are already in Orpington for the shops or the Odeon.
Littleville, Walnuts Shopping Centre
Not soft play in the frames-and-ball-pits sense, but the same job on a rainy day for a smaller child. Littleville at 53 to 55 The Walnuts Shopping Centre, BR6 0TW, is a role play cafe for under-7s: a little town of shops and stations to play in, with a proper cafe for the adults. Sessions last 75 minutes at 09:15, 11:15, 13:30 and 15:45, and cost £9.50 for a child including up to two adults, which makes it good value if both parents are along. It opens Monday to Thursday 09:15 to 14:45 and Friday to Sunday 09:15 to 17:00 (Littleville).
Worth the longer drive
Larkabout, Larkfield
Larkabout is tmactive’s soft play at Larkfield Leisure Centre near Aylesford, about half an hour along the M26 and M20. It is three floors of frames, slides, crawl tubes and ball pools for children 10 and under, with a minimum 90 minutes of play and no time limit off-peak, and the Refuel Cafe alongside it. tmactive lists it as open 10:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and 10:00 to 17:00 at weekends, with current admission prices on its soft play page and bookings through the app or on 01732 367449 (tmactive).
Bewl Water, Lamberhurst
About 35 minutes south, Bewl Water has a two-level soft play for 0 to 8s inside the Waterfront Cafe, open seven days a week. Drop-in sessions are an hour and cost £5 per child, which is the cheapest hour indoors on this list, and socks are compulsory. If you go regularly, the annual membership is £170 and includes parking, with siblings at £50 (Bewl Water). The reservoir walk and the outdoor play area make it a full day rather than a quick stop.
What has closed, and what is uncertain
Two things people still recommend locally are worth correcting.
Tonbridge has no soft play at the moment. Wear ‘m Out on Sovereign Way, the centre most Sevenoaks parents used to drive to, shut for good during the pandemic and never reopened (KentOnline). Soft play was the single most requested facility in the consultation on the replacement for the Angel Centre, backed by around 86 per cent of respondents, so it should return when that scheme is built (KentOnline).
Tunbridge Wells is mid-handover. Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre on St John’s Road has a two-level soft play, but its operator Fusion Lifestyle went into administration in April 2026 and Serco Leisure took over the borough’s centres from July (KentOnline). The old operator’s soft play page has gone offline in the process, so ring 01892 540744 before you drive over.
