Police want dashcam and CCTV after a silver Ford Focus failed to stop in Dunton Green on Friday 2 October, hit a car in Lusted Road and was abandoned.

What happened
Officers on proactive patrol spotted what the force calls a suspicious silver Ford Focus on London Road at about 8.35am on Friday 2 October. They signalled for the car to stop. It did not.
According to Kent Police, the Focus was later in a collision with a white Volkswagen Tiguan in Lusted Road. It finally came to a stop in Hillfield Road. The occupant then left the car and went on foot towards Chipstead Lakes.
The force has not said whether anyone was hurt in the collision. It has not reported an arrest, and it has not said why the car was considered suspicious.
Who police want to find
Officers want to identify the suspected driver. Kent Police describes him as:
- white and in his 20s
- with dark facial hair
- wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit top and dark-coloured tracksuit bottoms
- wearing black trainers

- residents with private CCTV covering London Road, Lusted Road, Hillfield Road or the paths towards Chipstead Lakes
- drivers with dashcam who were in the area at around 8.35am on Friday 2 October

What it means for residents
All three roads named in the appeal are in Dunton Green. If your doorbell or driveway camera faces any of them, the footage from Friday morning is worth checking before it is overwritten. Many systems keep recordings for only a few days.
