The arrest

The force said the arrest followed “extensive enquiries”. It has not named the man, and it has not said whether he has been charged. An arrest is not a charge.

Kent Police has not named the people who were hurt or said how they are connected. We will not speculate about either.

Where this was

Borough Green is a village on the A25 east of Sevenoaks. It sits in Tonbridge and Malling borough rather than Sevenoaks district, but its addresses carry the Sevenoaks TN15 postcode. That is why many reports filed the incident under Sevenoaks.

The force’s statement describes the incident as taking place inside a property. It does not describe any continuing risk to the wider public.

What it means for residents

Kent Police says enquiries are continuing. We will update this page if the force reports a charge or releases further information.
