Sevenoaks Art Club marks 125 years with Brushworks at the Kaleidoscope Gallery, 11 to 21 November, with paintings for sale in aid of Hospice in the Weald.
Sevenoaks Art Club, founded in 1901, is marking its 125th year with an exhibition and sale called Brushworks at the Kaleidoscope Gallery in Sevenoaks Library, Buckhurst Lane, from Wednesday 11 November at 10am until Saturday 21 November at 4pm.
The club describes the show as “an exciting collection of contemporary and traditional work by our local artists”. The gallery is open during library hours, and the artists will be there to meet visitors on Thursday 12 November from 6pm to 7.30pm.
Paintings that give to the hospice
This year the exhibition supports the Mayor’s chosen charity, Hospice in the Weald. Sevenoaks Town Council, which is backing the exhibition, says most of the paintings will include a specified percentage donation to the hospice when they sell (Sevenoaks Town Council event listing). The club’s poster says donations “will be made to the Mayor’s charity, Hospice in the Weald”.
The Kaleidoscope Gallery is run by Sevenoaks Visual Arts Forum as an artist-led space, in partnership with Kent County Council, in the same building as the library and Sevenoaks Museum (SVAF).
