The company running the Pig & Pickle at Seal Chart went into liquidation on 11 September, nine months after the pub's December opening. What the notices say.

The company behind The Pig & Pickle, the pub that reopened the old Crown Point Inn at Seal Chart last December, has gone into creditors’ voluntary liquidation. Ghost (KH) Limited was wound up by resolution on 11 September, just over nine months after the pub opened its doors. (The Gazette, Resolutions for Winding-up, Ghost (KH) Limited, 15 September 2026)

The liquidation is a matter for the company, not automatically for the pub itself. The premises could continue or reopen under a different operator, and neither Gazette notice says whether the pub has stopped trading. As of Friday, the pub’s own website still listed its usual Wednesday to Sunday opening hours and carried no statement. (The Pig & Pickle, pigandpickleseal.co.uk)

What the notices say

Two notices appeared in The Gazette on 15 September. They record that:

  • a general meeting of the company was held by conference call on 11 September
  • a special resolution was passed to wind the company up voluntarily
  • Kevin Weir (IP number 9332) of Hudson Weir Ltd, 56 Leman Street, London, was appointed liquidator, by the members and the creditors, the same day

Both notices give the company’s trading name as The Pig & Pickle and its business as “public house and bar”. The principal trading address is the Crown Point Inn, Sevenoaks Road, Seal Chart, TN15 0HB. (The Gazette, notice 5210975)

A creditors’ voluntary liquidation is the end of the company, not a rescue. It is different from administration, where a business can keep trading while a buyer is sought. Nine months from opening night

The Pig & Pickle opened on 1 December 2025, run by Katie and Alfie, after the former Crown Point site was rebuilt from what the pub’s own website calls a “tired old shell”. (The Pig & Pickle, pigandpickleseal.co.uk)

The company’s register history shows the pressure building through 2026. Companies House records that:

  • the company was incorporated on 16 March 2022 as The Crown Point Pub Limited, and renamed Ghost (KH) Limited in April 2023 (Companies House, Ghost (KH) Limited)
  • Alfred Johnson has been a director since incorporation; Katie-Ann Johnson, a director from April 2023, resigned on 4 June 2026 and ceased to be a person with significant control on 12 July
  • the registered office moved from the Crown Point Inn to the Companies House default address in Cardiff on 3 August 2026
  • Companies House published a first Gazette notice for compulsory strike-off on 8 September, and suspended that action on 18 September, after the liquidation

The only accounts the company has ever filed are dormant accounts, most recently for the year to 31 March 2025, a period that ended before the pub opened. A pub just over the boundary

The Crown Point Inn sits on the A25 at Seal Chart, about three miles east of Sevenoaks, with a Sevenoaks postal address. The postcode itself falls just over the district boundary: ONS postcode data places TN15 0HB in Tonbridge and Malling, in Ightham parish. (postcodes.io, ONS postcode data for TN15 0HB)

The building traded for years as the Crown Point before closing, and its reopening as The Pig & Pickle was one of the area’s most watched pub relaunches of last winter.

What it means for you

  • The Gazette notices record the liquidation of the operating company. They do not say the pub has closed, and its website still advertises opening hours; check the pub’s own channels before making a trip.
