Bonfire Night 2026 falls on Thursday 5 November, which is awkward for a school night, so almost every organised display sits on the weekends either side. If you are looking for fireworks in Sevenoaks itself, the honest answer is that the town has not had a single reliable big display for a few years now, and the best options are a short drive out. Below are the displays already confirmed for 2026 with dates, times and prices, then the ones that run most years and normally announce in September or October.
Everything here is checked against the organiser’s own website or ticket page, and where a 2026 date has not been published yet we say so rather than repeating last year’s date as if it still applied.

Tonbridge Fireworks Display: Sunday 1 November 2026
The closest large ticketed display with a confirmed 2026 date. Tonbridge Round Table runs it at the Racecourse Sports Ground in Tonbridge Park, gates at 5pm and the main display, choreographed to music, from 6.30pm (Tonbridge Fireworks).
The 2026 show has a theme: the Round Table is billing it as a Halloween spooktacular, “this year only”, choreographed again by Phoenix Fireworks (Tonbridge Fireworks).
Tickets are on sale now, and prices have come down. Advance tickets are £11.00 for adults over 16 and £7.00 for children aged 5 to 15, against £12.50 and £8.50 last season. Under 5s go free. Those advance prices hold until midnight on Friday 23 October, then rise (Tonbridge Fireworks).
An essential companion still goes free, but the check has changed. Instead of showing DLA, PIP or ESA paperwork at the gate, approval now runs through the Access Card scheme, so sort that out before the night. Two things are banned on site: sparklers and drones, and you cannot bring in alcohol; the bars sell it at pub prices. The 2025 display put £20,000 into local charities (Tonbridge Fireworks). One caution: the borough council’s listing still says tickets “from £8.50”, which is last year’s child price, so trust the organiser’s page over the council’s (TMBC).
The practical thing to get right is which way you walk in. Only three entrances open, and tickets are scanned at all three: New Wharf Road next to the Canoe Club, the Avebury Avenue bridge near Hendy’s Ford, and the Lower Castle Field car park bridge. Every other way into the Racecourse is closed off, so arriving at the wrong corner of the park means a long walk round in the dark. There is an accessible viewing area, licensed bars at pub prices, food stalls, first aid and a lost persons tent (Tonbridge Fireworks).
What it means for you: it is a Sunday, which is unusual and easy to get wrong. Tonbridge is about 20 minutes from Sevenoaks by car and roughly 10 minutes by train, and the sports ground is walkable from Tonbridge station, so this is the one display near Sevenoaks you can realistically do without driving or parking.
Swanley firework night: Friday 6 November 2026
Swanley Town Council runs a free bonfire and fireworks night at Swanley Recreation Ground, with a fair and music alongside the display. The council’s events listing gives Friday 6 November 2026, 5pm to 9pm (Swanley Town Council).
Free entry makes this the obvious choice with several children, and it is about 20 minutes from Sevenoaks up the A20 or two stops on the train. Because there are no tickets there is no capacity cap, so get there early if you want to be anywhere near the front.
Edenbridge Bonfire: Saturday 7 November 2026
Edenbridge is the one worth planning a proper evening around. The Edenbridge Bonfire Society runs Kent’s best known bonfire celebration, and the 2026 date is Saturday 7 November. Three times matter: the town centre road closure runs 6pm to 10pm, the torchlit procession sets off at 6.30pm, and the fireworks start at 8.30pm at the Recreation Ground on Lingfield Road (Edenbridge Bonfire Society).
It is also the one with the giant satirical effigy, and there are two of them. The society builds a celebrity guy each year alongside the traditional Guy Fawkes, both about 11 metres tall, and both are brought down with gunpowder and flames during the display; the celebrity guy is now a 25 year tradition and has put Edenbridge in the national press more than once (Edenbridge Bonfire Society, KentOnline).
The procession is the other half of the evening and is worth arriving for. It is led by the society’s bishop of the bonfire and his choirboys, with effigies of Guy Fawkes, General Wolfe and Anne Boleyn carrying her own head, followed by visiting Sussex bonfire societies, lit carnival floats, costumed walking parties and marching bands (Edenbridge Bonfire Society).
The street procession is free to watch, though volunteers work the crowd with collection buckets for local charities, and the society, a volunteer-run not-for-profit approaching its hundredth year, says every penny of that goes straight out again. Entry to the recreation ground for the display is ticketed, and the useful part is how those tickets are sold: they go into local shops usually at the beginning of October, and, unlike almost every other display here, you can also buy on the night (Edenbridge Bonfire Society tickets). Edenbridge is about 25 minutes from Sevenoaks, and the town gets very full, so park early or use the train to Edenbridge Town.
What it means for you: the 8.30pm display start is late for small children. If you have a four year old, Riverhead or Swanley will suit you better.
Leeds Castle Fireworks Spectacular: 7 and 8 November 2026
The biggest event in the county, and the one that sells out. Leeds Castle runs its Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026, themed around songs about time, with projections and lasers on the castle alongside the display (Leeds Castle).
Tickets are £29.00 for adults aged 16 and over, £20.00 for children aged 3 to 15, and free for under 3s (Leeds Castle booking). Note what you get for that: the site opens at 2pm so you have the grounds all afternoon, the display itself runs roughly 5.30pm to 6pm on the Cedar Lawn, and the event closes at 7pm (Leeds Castle event guide).
What it means for you: an early display finish is genuinely useful with young children, and it is the only nearby event where you are done and driving home before 7.30pm. Leeds Castle is about 45 minutes from Sevenoaks on the M20, a bit beyond the 30 minute radius, but it is the trip people make. Expect a long exit queue.
Displays that usually run but have not announced 2026 dates yet
Riverhead Fireworks, Sevenoaks
The closest display to Sevenoaks town centre, run by volunteers for the 3rd Sevenoaks (Riverhead and Dunton Green) Scout Group at their headquarters on Bradbourne Vale Road. It splits into two sittings, which is a sensible idea more displays should copy: a quieter display from 4pm with the first firework at 5pm, and a louder one from 6.30pm with the first rocket at 7.30pm (3rd Sevenoaks Scouts).
In 2025 it ran on Saturday 8 November at £8 per person aged 3 and over, £20 for a family of three and £25 for a family of four, with tickets sold in advance from The Bullfinch pub, Frank’s Barbers and Londis in Riverhead, and none available on the gate. It sold out (3rd Sevenoaks Scouts).
There is no 2026 date yet. As of 15 September the Scout group’s fundraising page still shows the 2025 event with SOLD OUT across the top, and the group’s separate riverheadfireworks.com address returns a hosting error rather than a site, so the Scout group’s own page (3rd Sevenoaks Scouts) is the one to watch. What that page does still set out is the release timetable, which is the bit to diarise: Scout families got a discounted presale at their weekly meetings from the last Monday in September, and general sale opened to everyone at midday on a Saturday in mid-October, in advance only, from those three Riverhead shops. If the group repeats that pattern, the presale would start around Monday 28 September this year, with general sale following in mid-October.
What it means for you: the quieter early display is the best local option for toddlers and for dogs in the house nearby. Buy tickets the day they go on sale, because it does sell out and you cannot pay at the gate.
Sevenoaks Round Table charity fireworks
For years the town’s big event was the Round Table display on the Sevenoaks School sports fields, reached by a torchlit procession up the High Street with food and funfair rides beforehand. It has struggled to secure a venue, and the Round Table’s own events page currently lists nothing for the 2026 firework season (Sevenoaks Round Table). Treat it as unconfirmed rather than cancelled, and do not build the evening around it.
Reuthe’s, near Sevenoaks
Reuthe’s, the Lost Gardens of Sevenoaks, ran its third annual fireworks weekend in November 2025, but the gardens then closed for major groundworks until March 2026, so the November programme is worth checking rather than assuming (Reuthe’s events).
School and village displays
Radnor House Sevenoaks holds a fireworks night run by Friends of Radnor House, ticketed in advance through Ticket Tailor (Radnor House Sevenoaks). Hextable Park near Swanley has run a free family display, and several village schools around Tonbridge do their own. These almost always announce in October through school newsletters and village Facebook groups rather than anywhere searchable, so ask locally.
What about Hever and Penshurst?
Neither runs a Bonfire Night display. Riverhead is the one to diarise: last year the Scout families’ presale opened in late September and general sale at midday on a Saturday in mid-October, advance only from three Riverhead shops, and it sold out (3rd Sevenoaks Scouts). Swanley is free and needs no ticket.
Can I get to a display by train from Sevenoaks? Tonbridge is the easiest, roughly 10 minutes on the train with the sports ground walkable from the station. Edenbridge Town and Swanley are also on the network. Leeds Castle realistically needs a car.
